Review Guidelines
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Reviews on Moldlist come from people describing their own experience with a listed professional, service or product. These guidelines decide which reviews we publish. They apply the same way whether a review recommends the listing, doesn't recommend it, or is not sure. We never hold a review back for being negative or publish one for being positive.
Who can write a review
- You are a real person writing about your own firsthand experience as a customer, client, patient or user of the listing, and the review is your honest opinion.
- You write one review for each listing. You can edit it later.
- Someone who manages a listing on Moldlist can't review it.
No incentives
A review isn't eligible if you received, or were promised, payment, gifts, discounts, free services, refunds, prize entries or any other benefit in exchange for writing it. That applies to a benefit offered for a positive review and to one offered for any review.
These are not review incentives, so they don't affect your review: a normal discount or sale price, insurance coverage, financial assistance or a sliding fee, or a free consultation or service, as long as none of it was given in exchange for posting a review.
Connections that make a review ineligible
You can't review a listing if you are, or are writing on behalf of:
- an owner, employee or representative of the business
- a business partner
- a paid affiliate or referral partner, meaning anyone paid or rewarded for sending people to it
- a close friend or family member of an owner or employee
- a direct competitor. Competitors may not review one another.
Disclosing one of these connections in your review doesn't make it eligible.
Ordinary customer relationships are fine. Being a regular customer, client, patient or user, being in the same support group or online community as the professional, or getting along well with a provider during your care or service doesn't disqualify you.
What a review can include
- Praise and criticism, including strong criticism of the service or product you received.
- Your own health details, including your own diagnosis, if you choose to share them. You don't have to, and the review is public once approved.
- The professional's name as it appears on the listing.
What a review can't include
- Harassment, threats, hate or personal attacks.
- Spam or promotional content, including links or contact details meant to advertise.
- Private information about other people, such as their health or contact details, and anyone's home address or personal contact details. Leave out medical records.
- Medical advice to readers, such as telling others which treatment to take.
- Claims that a product, treatment or service caused or cured an illness. Describe what you experienced instead.
- Unsupported accusations of wrongdoing, such as fraud, malpractice or a crime stated as fact. Describe what happened instead.
How we check reviews
A person at Moldlist reads every review, and every edit, before it is published. An automated check may first suggest whether a review meets these guidelines, but a person makes every decision. We don't change the words of a review.
We can publish a review, ask you to edit it, or decide not to publish it. You can see the decision, and any note from the reviewer, in your account. A published review can be removed later if it breaks these guidelines. While an edit waits, the version already published stays up.
When someone says a review was paid for or written by someone with a connection, we treat that as a claim to assess, not as proof. The agreement you check when you submit is your own statement. It doesn't verify your identity or that you bought or used anything.
Report a review
Every published review has a "Report this review" link. Give your email, which stays private, and tell us what a reviewer should know. A report doesn't hide the review on its own. A person looks at it against these guidelines.
A listing's manager can post one public response to a review. A person reads the response before it appears. Managers can't hide or remove reviews.
Your review
In Account → Reviews you can edit or withdraw your review, read any note from the reviewer, and appeal a decision to ask for an edit or not to publish it. Withdrawing a review takes it off the public page.
For anything else, including a request about a review that mentions you, email support@moldlist.com.
Reviews are also covered by our Terms and Privacy Policy.
