Community Guidelines
The Moldlist community is a place to ask questions and share experiences with mold-related doctors, inspectors, remediation companies, lawyers and products. Posts and comments are the opinions of the members who write them, not Moldlist's. Nothing here is medical, legal or building advice.
Welcome
- Questions, and your own experiences and honest opinions, positive or negative.
- Naming a professional, business or product and saying how it went for you.
- Your own health details, if you choose to share them. You don't have to.
Not allowed
- Harassment, threats, hate or personal attacks.
- Private information about someone else, anyone's home address or personal contact details, or medical records.
- Spam, advertising or self-promotion, including a business promoting itself or posting paid or referral links.
- Telling readers which treatment, medicine, supplement or dose to take.
- Claims that a product or treatment caused, cured or prevents an illness.
- Accusing a named person or business of a crime, fraud or misconduct as fact, without firsthand facts.
- Sexual, graphic or violent content.
- Pretending to be someone else, including a professional or Moldlist.
A business or professional may answer questions about mold in general, but may not promote itself, ask for reviews or post about its own listing. To update a listing, use Add/claim listing. To review a listing, use Write a review on its page, which follows the Review Guidelines.
How moderation works
Posts and comments appear under your public name as soon as you send them. Moldlist's automated check (through xAI's API, which does not keep the text) reads each one right after it is sent and holds any that may break these guidelines until a person at Moldlist reads it. A person decides; the check never removes anything by itself.
Anyone signed in can report a post or comment. A report never hides anything by itself; a person reads every report. Moldlist removes posts and comments that break these guidelines or the Terms and does not edit what members write. You can delete your own posts and comments at any time, and edit a post unless Moldlist removed it. Deleting your account deletes them too.
